The Hutchinson School Board Monday reviewed district progress for students achieving skills that will help them as they work into the second half of the 21st century.

The district reviewed R-5: Life and Career 21st Century Skills during Monday’s meeting. Specifically, the board looked at three measures – the number of Career and Technical Education Academy coursework participants, attendance rate and graduation rate.

In 2012-13, 91.35 percent of students at Hutchinson High School had completed one or more career and technical education credits in their freshman through junior years. That number was up slightly from 90.55 percent in 2011-12.

Attendance rate in 2012-13 was 94.27 percent, down fractionally from 94.6 percent in 2011-12 but above the state required 90 percent attendance rate.

HHS had an 87.43 percent graduation rate for the class of 2013, up nearly 1 percent from the class of 2012.

The Board agreed that adequate progress had been made on R-5.
