Hutch Man Bound Over In Meth And Felony Theft Case

A 27-year-old Hutchinson man who allegedly sold drugs twice to a confidential informants back in July was in court this afternoon where he was bound over for trial.

Matthew Gulick is charged with selling methamphetamine on July 24 and the second on July 31. In both cases, they used to informants to make the buy. In the first case, he allegedly sold less then a half a gram to the officer, and the second time, it was just over 2 grams sold.

The first case is a level D-4, on the drug sentencing grid with a sentencing range of 14-to-51 months in prison. The second case is a level D-3, on the drug sentencing grid with a sentencing range of 46-to-83 month sentence. In the second case, Gulick is also charged with having no tax stamp which is a level 10, non-person felony with a sentencing range of 5-to-13 months in prison.

He was also bound over for a felony theft case that goes back to July of last year. He allegedly stole items from K-Mart. Because of prior theft convictions, it is filed as a felony case.

He’ll be arraigned on the charges early next month in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
