A 24-year-old Wichita man is scheduled for trial in a marijuana distribution case that goes back to April of last year.
Darnell Whittaker is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, no tax stamp and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction.
Whittaker was allegedly in a vehicle that contained over 7-pounds of marijuana which was sitting next to him in two duffel bags. The arrest coming from the drug unit and Hutchinson Police making a traffic stop in the 5500 block of North Lorraine back on April 26, 2013.
Jury selection in the case is scheduled to begin Tuesday in front of Judge Trish Rose, however any hearing or trial is subject to last minute continuances.
Whittaker remains jailed on 50-thousand dollar bond.
