Hutchinson Police are investigating the report from a 26-year-old Hutchinson man who says he was stabbed in the arm and leg, but then he was arrested on a warrant for domestic battery.
Cullen C. Sykes who lives in the 400 block of East 7th, says the man entered his home when the altercation took place. He was taken to Hutchinson Regional for treatment, and the arrested for domestic battery, but in court, he was told he’s also being charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia which came as a surprise to him. He told Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen he knew about the domestic battery case, but not the marijuana. The judge told him that a search was conducted and allegedly a bag of marijuana was in plain site along with a pipe to smoke pot.
Judge McEwen made the 1-thousand dollar bond, an O-R or Signature bond and that case will come back at a later date once the state files formal charges.
The stabbing incident was reported to police around 6:30 p-m, Sunday evening. No arrest have been made from that incident.
