RENO COUNTY — A 21-year-old Hutchinson man was flown to a Wichita hospital after a one-vehicle rollover accident in the county Saturday evening.

Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies and Haven EMS units were dispatched to the 8900 block of South Haven Road after witnesses reported seeing a vehicle leave the roadway and go airborne before it flipped and landed on its roof.

Units arrived on scene and made contact with the driver, Dustin Tamez. He was still inside his vehicle with the seat belt fastened and had to be assisted to exit. He was then flown to Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita by EagleMed.

The investigation indicates that Tamez was northbound on Haven Road when he veered to the right and into the ditch. His vehicle went airborne over a culvert and nose dived into the other side. The vehicle flipped onto its top and became stationary.

At this time, the accident is still under investigation. Alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

The accident occurred about 9:50 p.m.
