HUTCHINSON, Kan. – An eleventh hour push with Project Concern, a promotion of KWBW, ends with a new record total. The official total is $25,572.50. That breaks the record set back in 2013 when the total was $23,000. Last year the total was $16,000.
Here’s how it will be divided up: the Salvation Army will receive $19,150 from that total. However, Dillons always gives a discount on the gift cards that are purchased for the Salvation Army to give to those in need. We estimate that this money will allow the Salvation Army to help the needy with a total of 796 cards.
The rest will be divided up between Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Christian Soup Ministry and Friendship Meals. It’s estimated that each one of those organizations will receive $2,128.
It ended with three $5,000 and $1,000 checks being brought to the Eagle Media Center, as well as many other small donations to the cause.
As we have mentioned on air, we can’t thank our listeners enough for your help with this year’s Dillons, Midwest Ford and Toyota and BW Radio’s “Project Concern.” Thank You, you made Thanksgiving possible for some needy families.
