HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 27-year-old man arrested last week for drugs and an altercation with law enforcement was back before a judge Tuesday for the reading of formal charges.
Killian Craig is charged with felony battery of a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and interference with law enforcement, where he allegedly hid from officers and resisted arrest.
Apparently, officers went to a residence in the 500 block of East 9th where Craig was staying to serve warrants for his arrest. He allegedly left out a back door, ran from officers, but was quickly captured. He then allegedly fought them as they were trying to take him into custody and allegedly struck an officer during the altercation, injuring that officer. Police also allege that he was in possession of drugs at the time of his arrest.
He was able to post the $11,000 bond and appeared in person for the reading of the charges. Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen scheduled the case for a future waiver-status docket.
