HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 36-year-old man made a first appearance in court over an altercation where he allegedly threatened three people with a knife.

Randolph Christopher Cabral Jr. faces potential charges for three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He apparently got into an altercation at a home in the 500 block of North Van Buren. When police arrived, they allegedly found the drugs and paraphernalia inside the home.

The incident occurred this past Saturday, according to police.

In court, he was told of the potential charges and Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen agreed to lower the bond from $21,000 to $15,000.

Cabral is no stranger to law enforcement, having been convicted of criminal damage to property, burglary, forgery and attempted theft.

He will be back in court on Nov. 10 for the reading of any charges the state may file against him.
