HUTCHINSON, Kan. — An informational meeting sponsored by the Citizens for the Moderation of our Democracy, also known as the MOD Squad, is scheduled for next Monday, Oct. 26, in the Blue Dragon Room in the Parker Student Union on the Hutchinson Community College Campus at 1400 N. Plum. The meeting will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Dr. Beth Clarkson.
Dr. Clarkson is an ASQ-Certified Quality Engineer, with a PhD in Statistics. She’s worked as a professional statistician since 1983, helping manufacturing and service industries through the use of quality improvement techniques, surveys, and statistical analysis of data.
When she analyzed election results from electronic voting machines in Kansas and other states, she found some statistical anomalies, particularly looking at results in larger precincts. She’s suing Secretary of State Kris Kobach for access to voting records in order to audit the accuracy of the electronic voting machines used in Sedgwick County.
She’ll explain what she discovered and why she’s concerned and feels an audit is necessary.
Also joining the meeting will be Rep. Steve Becker from the 104th District to discuss last year’s legislative session.
The MOD Squad is looking for moderate-minded people who would like to work to bring our state back to a more balanced legislature.
