HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Despite having a significant criminal history, a 33-year-old Hutchinson man was granted community corrections by District Judge Trish Rose.
Jeremy Frischenmeyer was convicted of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of synthetic marijuana. The state as part of a plea agreement dropped a charge of criminal trespass.
Judge Trish Rose sentenced him to a total of three years, four months in prison, but then granted 1-year of community corrections on the condition that he attend in patient treatment. Apparently he will stay in jail until he goes to Dodge City next week for that treatment.
Frischenmeyer was possession of drugs after he was stopped by police in the 700 block of North Adams. The criminal trespass charge came after he was apparently at an apartment in the 200 block of West 8th, where he was not welcome. This occurring back on July 7, 2014.
The defense sought a departure, while the state believed he should go to prison which was called for in this case.
Frischenmeyer was released from prison on June 30, 2014, for convictions of three burglaries going back to 2011. But, he also has other convictions for burglary, forgery, theft and possession of drugs.
