HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 20-year-old man was granted a year and six months community corrections on a 6-year sentence for three cases.
Two of the cases against Elijah Metheny go back to Dec. of last year when he was arrested twice for the sale of cocaine. The first occurring on Dec. 17, the second on Dec. 27. On that date he was also arrested for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and using a cell phone for distribution of drugs. The state dropped those charges as part of a plea agreement.
The third case involves the sale of marijuana and allegedly occurred on Jan. 7, 2015. Again, as part of a plea agreement, the state dropped a charge of conspiracy and also using a cell phone to make the drug transaction.
He received two years for each case, then granted the corrections by Judge Trish Rose. He will apparently go through extensive out patient treatment as part of his corrections.
