The 100th Kansas State Fair here in Hutchinson begins three weeks from Friday, and fair officials want to remind Kansans of some important dates.
On August 15, that’s the deadline for entering open class exhibits. You get more information on that on the state fair website.
August 24 is the last day to get free gate admission with the purchase of your U.S. Cellular Grandstand concert ticket.
Then on September 2 is a big event for the 100th State Fair Birthday Celebration. That’s the day that they will sponsor a parade. The parade begins at 3:00 p-m, followed by festivities at Lake Talbott on the Fairgrounds at 4:00 p-m. The parade route will be from 12th & Main, proceed north to the gate entrance at 24th Avenue.
On September 5, that will be the last day to get discounted gate and carnival ride tickets. They’re on sale now at Dillon’s or through the state fair ticket office on the fairgrounds.
Of course on Friday September 6, the state party known as the Kansas State Fair begins.
