As we have already reported a couple of times now, burglaries of businesses, residences and vehicles are up some in the Hutchinson area, including Bornholdt Plantland which was struck twice in a week by a burglar or burglars earlier this month. The latest incident included damage to the property.
But, there have been more reports in recent days that may be a little more troubling for police. 21 Santa Fe at 17 West B, where someone took a .380 handgun from their business after it was broken into. That was reported Tuesday morning.
On Monday, a Hutchinson resident on North Maple reported that someone entered his truck and took his Ruger LCR .38 5-shot revolver.
Other incidents included a vending machine being knocked over and items taken from it, this at Sunflower Inn at 322 East 4th.
A Dodge City trucker reported that a GPS unit taken from his semi while it was parked on “F” Street.
Back on August 9, an employee of Mi Tierra at 700 East. 4th, reported that the business was entered by breaking glass in a rear door and cash taken.
Around that same time, an employee of Fashionista, 14 West “A”, reported a window broken out and the business entered with miscellaneous items taken.
