Hutchinson man faces drug distribution charges
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 29-year-old Hutchinson man was in Reno County District Court Tuesday morning where he was read the formal charges involving the alleged distribution of drugs.
Bryan Green aka Brian Green faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, personal use drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and aggravated false impersonation.
Green was arrested on March 23, on a warrant for the Reno County case which alleges that at the time of his arrest by Hutchinson Police, he had between 3.5 and 100 grams of methamphetamine on him as well as the paraphernalia which the state alleges was used to distribute drugs. He also allegedly had a small amount of marijuana on him and gave the name of Shawn Green which they later learned was false information.
Green was also arrested on a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant out of McPherson County.
He has served time for manufacturing meth, conspiracy to manufacture, possession of opiates and arson convictions here in Reno County from 2004. He was also convicted for having a precursor to manufacturing meth for a case in Rice County that same year. In Harvey County, Green has convictions for having a precursor to manufacture meth and flee and elude for a case that goes back to 2007.
With the formal charges filed here in Reno County, his case will now moved to a waiver-status docket.
Indecent Liberties with a child suspect expected back in court Wednesday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 67-year-old man jailed on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child is expected back in Reno County District Court Wednesday for the formal reading of charges.
John Robert Haney was arrested by Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton for incidents involving two kids, ages eight and nine. According to Carlton, the sexual contact occurring during the past three months or so. The charges will fall under Jessica’s Law, meaning if convicted, he could be looking at life sentence with no chance of parole for 25-years. Considering his age, he may not ever be released from prison if convicted.
His bond remains at $150,000.
Hutchinson woman accused in stabbing incident scheduled for court Wednesday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 28-year-old Hutchinson woman accused of stabbing her brother is scheduled to be back in court Wednesday.
Ashley Miles faces a single charge of aggravated battery for allegedly stabbing her brother during a domestic dispute on March 14.
Her brother suffered a single wound to the abdomen according to police. He was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment and released. However, there may have also been a puncture wound to his leg, but didn’t require any treatment.
Bond was set at $10,000 and the hearing is scheduled in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen.
