HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 31-year-old Hutchinson man sentenced to nearly four years in prison and given community corrections was unable to convince Judge Trish Rose to let him serve his prison sentence.
Bradley Wicks has been on corrections for convictions of theft, aggravated failure to appear, and two convictions for burglary.
He was in court Friday morning for a corrections violation and asked that sentence be knocked in half, then be ordered to serve that time. The judge had been given the recommendation that he serve a six-month sanction in prison for violating his corrections. But, he told the judge he didn’t believe he could make it on corrections and wanted to serve the reduced sentence. Judge Rose denied that request, ordered he serve a six-month sanction in prison, then be placed back on corrections.
Wicks served time in prison for unlawful manufacturing, possession of drugs, aggravated failure to appear, two theft and two burglary convictions.
