Siemens Wind Power has announced its CEO Felix Ferlemann is to leave the company “by mutual consent” after less than two years in the role.

Ferlemann will be replaced by Markus Tacke, CEO of Siemens Energy’s industrial power business unit. Tacke has been with Siemens since 1998.
Ferlemann, who joined Siemens in October 2011, will be replaced on 1 August. He was originally appointed to head the wind division after it was split off into an autonomous arm of Siemens Energy.

Prior to joining Siemens, Ferlemann was head of the chassis systems division of Benteler Automotive. He became one of the first of a number of senior auto recruits to the wind sector.
The wind division was broken up into three divisions, which each had their own CEO’s reporting to Ferlemann.

According to figures from BTM Consult, in 2012 Siemens was the world’s number three manufacturer with 9.5% of the market, behind GE and Vestas.
