The parent company of a Hutchinson metals fabrication facility has sign a new contract with airplane maker Cessna, that will keep work here in Hutchinson. ThyssenKrupp Aerospace North America announce a three-year contract extension with Cessna to remain its service provider for aluminum sheet products and related supply chain services.
The company will service Cessna’s facilities in Wichita, Kansas, as well as Cessna’s key subcontractors throughout the North American region. The just-in-time services will be supported from its existing facility here Hutchinson. According to Plant Manager Troy Wilder, the Hutchinson facility supplies cut to order aluminum sheeting on an as needed basis, and employs 16 people. The facility used to be owned by Alcoa Aerospace but was divested and sold to ThyssenKrupp a little over 5 years ago.
