HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 28-year-old man accused of selling drugs twice to confidential informants last year was before Judge Joe McCarville Monday for a preliminary hearing in other cases.
Matthew Gullick was bound over Monday for three less serious charges which includes theft of services in a case that goes back to November 12, 2013. That for allegedly stealing a chain saw. But, the state added a an alternate count of possession of stolen property to that case.
Gulick was bound over in another case where he charged with aggravated intimidation of a witness or victim and interference with law enforcement. He’s alleged to have pulled his vehicle in the way of a witness in one of his other cases, gotten out of the vehicle and began yelling at the witness and allegedly threatened to kill them. This allegedly occurring on Friday February 7. The state also added an alternate count of criminal threat to this case.
He was also bound over for theft of property or services and possession of stolen property allegedly occurring back on November 16, 2013. The state added two charges of theft with a value over $1,000. These were added at the end of the preliminary hearing in these two cases.
They started with the preliminary hearing in a fourth case where Gullick is charged for allegedly selling of methamphetamine on July 24, and on July 31, of last year. In both cases, law enforcement used to informants to make the buys. In the first case, he allegedly sold less then a half a gram, and in the second, it was just over two grams. Gulick is also charged with having no tax stamp. He is also facing a charge of racketeering in this case. Judge Joe McCarville says they had all the civilian witnesses testify Monday and will continue the hearing Tuesday with law enforcement taking the stand.
Gullick remains jailed on a total of $97,000.
