HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For some time, large groups of teens have been gathering in the parking lot at Taco John’s.
For the most part there hasn’t been any trouble. But when the group began to rev engines to their cars and doing burnouts in the Taco John’s parking area, the restaurant decided enough was enough. Police responded to the area last night where they say 20-30 people had gathered. Most left the area, but some decided to stay and argue with authorities. When one man, Jordan Covert, refused to leave in peace he was arrested for interference with a law enforcement officer. Covert was taken to jail on a $500 bond. Thirteen others who refused to leave were advised of criminal trespass.
There were no injuries or any serious incident during the call.
