SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Sheriff Officials have yet to release the name of the individual who was found deceased last Thursday in his vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to the report of a vehicle in a field north of the K-96 & K-14 east junction, south of South Hutchinson.
When they arrived, they confirmed there was a deceased male still inside the still running vehicle, in fact it was still in gear.
They say visually, there were no apparent injuries or wounds to indicate cause of death.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling southbound on K-96, at approximately Mills Rd. The driver may have suffered a stroke or cardiac arrest where he then left the roadway and entered the median. The vehicle continued south bound through the median into the northbound lane, where the vehicle left the roadway into the east ditch, went through a Kansas Department of Transportation fence and eventually came to rest in a field. That is where the reporting party observed it earlier in the morning at approximately 8:00 a-m. When they drove by some time later and observed the vehicle and occupant still there, they called 911. That was around 10:30 a.m.
Again, the name of the indivudual has not been released.
