HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For Lucinda Piligian, it was a chance to give back to her community.
The new Rivers Banks Orchard Park was officially opened today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The major portion of the first phase of the park was a playground that was made possible by a donation from Pilligian. “I can’t believe this is a reality……I just wanted to give something back to the community,” said Piligian, shortly before the ceremony, which drew a large crowd Friday morning.
The playground is just the first of many phase of the park which will eventually include ball diamonds, a fishing lake and hiking trails.
