Reno County Treasure Jan Hull released the latest county sales tax numbers for March which show a big drop in taxes collected in January which is not unusual coming out of the holiday season.
In January, the county collected just over 363-thousand, 344-dollars, a drop from the over 417-thousand dollars collected in December, but still an increase over January of last year when the county collected 352-thousand, 590-dollars.
The numbers also show that the county continues to be ahead of last year with a total so far of 1-million, 150-thousand, 600-dollars. Last year at this point, the county had collected 1-million, 115-thousand, 833-dollars. That’s a difference of roughly 35-thousand, 245-dollars.
Again the March numbers reflect sales tax collected in the county for the month of January.
