Reno County Courthouse at night

The couple arrested over the weekend after an altercation with each other were both back before a judge Wednesday morning for the formal reading of charges.

Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen read the complaint to 18-year-old Mahrya Scaglione who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a knife, that being 18-year-old Travis Donaldson. Charges include aggravated battery, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and personal use drug paraphernalia. She appeared via video from the Reno County Jail.

Her boyfriend who is now free on bond also appeared in person. Charges against Donaldson include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and personal use drug paraphernalia.

The case starts at a home at 702 North Adams Saturday afternoon. Scaglione was arrested after she allegedly stabbed Donaldson in the knee with a 2-blade pocket knife. Police and an ambulance were called to the scene. It was during that time that 48-grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was allegedly found in the home.

Donaldson is free on a 2-thousand dollar bond. Staglione remains jailed on an 18-thousand, 500-dollar bond.

The case against the two will move to a future waiver-status docket. However, the state had just filed the charges prior to court beginning, so no case numbers have been assigned to their cases thus far. Whatever numbers are assigned will determine which court their cases will proceed in.
