Paper Shredding

The office of Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt will sponsor a free document destruction event in Hutchinson on Monday, March 24. The event previously scheduled on March 3 was postponed due to inclement weather.

Consumers may drop off up to three small bags or boxes of personal documents to be shredded at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Gate 5 parking lot, from 11 a-m to 1 p-m. The entrance to the lot can be accessed from State Fair Road.

“Securely destroying old personal documents is an important step to protect yourself from identity theft,” Schmidt said. “We are pleased to be offering consumers this opportunity to clean out those old files and keep personal information out of the hands of identity thieves.”

The event was originally scheduled as part of National Consumer Protection Week, which was observed March 2-8.
