One of two people arrested back on August 7, 2013 after a drug related search was conducted on a Hutchinson home entered a plea in the case Friday while a co-defendant was a no show in court.
22-year-old Kassie Laughlin was charged with aggravated endangerment with a child, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package marijuana for sale and personal use drug paraphernalia. But, she entered a plea to the endangerment charges, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and personal use drug paraphernalia. She’ll be sentenced on April 25.
33-year-old Brian Nelson faces charges of aggravated endangerment with a child, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He didn’t show in court for a pre-trial conference and Judge Chambers issued a bench warrant with a 10-thousand dollar bond for him.
In the case, officers allegedly found a glass jar in her bedroom which contained the alleged marijuana. They also found inside her purse a pipe with marijuana residue. In the kitchen, they found an open box of sandwich bags and another bag next to it with marijuana residue. Allegedly, both her and Nelson admitted to smoking marijuana prior to the search of the home.
Both were charged with the endangerment count because of a 7-month old child being in the home.
