The Youth Philanthropy Council of the Hutchinson Community Foundation awarded $3,000 in grants from the Richard W. Dillon Memorial Fund for Youth Philanthropy on Sunday.
The Council is comprised of twenty-two high school students from across Reno County. These youth have met for the last four months to discuss local issues of concern to youth, learn about philanthropy and grant making, and award grants to youth-serving organizations.
The following grants were awarded Sunday at the Hutchinson Art Center.
Dillon Nature Center – $375 for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Camp equipment
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at Nickerson High School – $80 for Red Cross Blood Mobile
Hutchinson/Reno County Hawks – $565 for On the Road to Victory transportation costs
Prosperity C.A.R.E.S Club – $300 for supplies for Eagle Wings Quilts project
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center – $330 for supplies for Circles of Affection
Trinity Catholic Jr./Sr. High School – $300 for supplies for Blankets Tied With Love project
Magnet STEM School at Allen – $600 for supplies for Lego Mosaic
USD 308 – $450 for scholarships for International Baccalaureate Program
