Reno County Officials are looking at putting in a bid to allow the city of Wichita to bring a by-product from their waster water treatment plant to the Reno County Landfill.
Wichita is apparently excepting bids and the county currently charges 37-dollars per ton for allowing such things to be brought to the landfill here.
They believe this could offset the loss of materials being brought to the landfill from McPherson. Apparently they have started taking their items to Saline County instead of here.
They estimate there could 24-hundred tons of the material from Wichita brought to Reno County each year if that city selects Reno County.
The material isn’t believed to be hazardous.
