The second of two jury trials scheduled to begin Tuesday has also been continued at the request of the state. Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton made the request to Judge Trish Rose in the case involving Levar Simon, saying that some witnesses wouldn’t be able to make it because of the weather.

Simon is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell within a thousand feet of a school, possession of synthetic marijuana with a prior conviction and no tax stamp. The case goes back to March 30, 2013.

Drug Unit detectives did a search of his home at 408 East Campbell and allegedly located on his person was white rocky substance that tested positive for crack cocaine in the amount of 15-grams. He also allegedly had a green vegetation on him. They also allegedly found another 6.4 grams of cocaine in the refrigerator of the home.

Simon remains jailed on a 40-thousand dollar bond. No new date for the trial was announced.
