A Hutchinson man convicted for the murder of a Hutchinson woman and sentenced to 73-years in prison is expected in court Friday over another criminal case.
Charles Christopher Logsdon is charged with aggravated battery, involving the shooting of a Hutchinson man. He’s accused of shooting Eric Harbacek in the leg after an altercation on November 26, 2010. There is word that Logsdon may enter a plea in the case and hearing is scheduled on the matter in front of Judge Tim Chambers Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened at the home where Logsdon was living at 108 South Severance. The victim was reportedly arguing over prison stuff with another man sitting on the couch with him and Logsdon shot him in the leg.
He apparently didn’t go to the hospital for treatment until the next day, and says they had to dig the slug out of him. The entrance scar he showed at the preliminary hearing appeared to be about 3/8′s of an inch, and the exit scar was about 3/4′s of an inch. It was at the hospital the next day that police got involved in the case.
Logsdon is already serving the 73-year sentence for the murder of Jennifer Heckel which occurred on June 14, 2011. A co-defendant in the case, Billy Craig Jr., is still awaiting trial in the case.
