For the cold snap and storm that blanketed Kansas, Triple A Roadside Rescue Team and their network of service providers across Kansas responded to 1,067 calls for the period Sunday through Tuesday.
They tell us 48 percent of the calls occurred on Monday at 508 and 32 percent on Tuesday. Although 34 percent of all the calls were classified as jump starts and 41 percent required towing, many of the towing call were related to starting or charging system issues.
Their road service dispatch center indicates two-thirds of all calls were for cars that wouldn’t start and close to 10 percent were for frozen locks or lock issues.
