A 20-year-old Hutchinson man jailed after he was arrested on a warrant for a sex case that goes all the way back to late March of last year.
Sebastion Muns made a first appearance on the charge Friday morning and Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen left the 50-thousand dollar bond the same.
Muns is charged with a single count of “rape.” He’s alleged to have had sex with a girl who was 13-years-old at the time. Although the alleged crime occurred in March, the victim who’s now 14, didn’t report the incident till September of last year. That led to a police investigation and the filing of the charge by the District Attorney’s Office. They then issued a warrant for his arrest.
The sexual encounter was allegedly consensual according to police, but under Kansas law still falls under the statue of “rape.”
He was apparently held for awhile in the Harvey County Jail, before being transferred to Reno County.
His case will now be placed on a future waiver-status docket.
