A 17 year old Hutchinson teen was arrested after being connected to break ins at two local churches.
Authorities arrested Richard Grissom Jr. of 102 east 8th around 7pm on suspicion of felony possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, burglary and criminal damage to property. Grissom was arrested after an employee of the First Church of God found him inside the pastors office. That person talked with Grisom for a short time before leaving and calling police. Grissom tried to run from the scene, but was stopped before he could get away. Grisom didn’t get away with any cash, but did cause heavy damage to an area of the church. He’s also thought to be connected to a break in at the Riverside Baptist Church at 114 east 8th earlier in the day.
Grisom, who is an absconder from community corrections, is also thought to be connected to a large number of car burglaries in the city over the past several months.
