HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 32-year-old Wichita man who is listed as an absconder from parole was arrested on drug distribution charges in Reno County Friday.
The arrest came as Daniel M. Balderes was traveling on U.S. 50. Once stopped, law enforcement officials discovered he had warrants from the Kansas Department of Corrections and Shawnee County.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana, scales, baggies and $190 in cash.
Charges include distribution of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and violation of his parole.
In court Monday, he denied he was selling drugs and was concerned over the money seized at the time of his arrest.
Balderes has served time for a drug distribution case from 2012, but has other convictions from 2003 and 2006, all in Sedgwick County.
He’ll be back in court on the Reno County case on July 3.
