HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local woman already facing charges of making false information is now charged in a new financial crimes case involving two state agencies.

Charise Nicole Zimmerman is charged with three counts of forgery and three counts of theft by deception. These charges involve checks from the Kansas Department of Administration where she apparently forged checks belonging to this agency. Two were for $290.50 and one was for $93.19.

According to the criminal complaint, these crimes occurred in March and August of last year.

Zimmerman is also charged with illegal disposition of welfare benefits. The state says she unlawfully sold or otherwise disposed of welfare benefits, going against the rules and regulations of the Secretary of the Social and Rehabilitation Services. This occurred on March 29 of last year.

In court, the judge lowered the bond of $4,500 to $2,500 with the case moving to a waiver-status docket on July 12.
