HAVEN, Kan. — It has been a long time in the making, but the City of Haven celebrated the 
groundbreaking for its new EMS station this morning.
The new building will be located at 120 N. Kansas, just down from the current building. The facility is being funded through a half cent sales tax approved by city voters along with funding from Sumner, Haven and Yoder townships.
The new facility has space for two ambulances and one other vehicle. It also has sleeping quarters, a kitchen storage and offices. Total cost of the building is about $515,000 and is expected to be finished in about six months.
Haven EMS is a community-based volunteer service that makes between 100 and 200 runs per year.
