The county is still ahead for the year as far as collections of the mortgage registration tax and the recording fee if you include the two together. That’s compared to this same time last year.
According to numbers released by County Administrator Gary Meagher, the county is ahead by just under 60-thousand dollars for the year, however they collect less in August then last year.
In August, they collected 50-thousand, 749-dollars for the mortgage registration tax, compared with 56-thousand, 133-dollars in August of 2012.
As far as the recording fee, the county has collected at total of 123-thousand, 86-dollars which is considerably less then this time last year when they collected 143-thousand, 347-dollars.
But, again the county is still ahead for the year if you add both the tax and the fees totals together.
