HUTCHINSON, Kan. – During a waiver-status docket Wednesday, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen set a preliminary hearing date for the four young men charged with the Kwik Shop robbery and burglary of a local business.
18-year-old Dakota Ney, 19-year-old Karl Koenig, 20-year-old Kurt Koenig and 19-year-old Drake Lindsay face charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.
The judge set the hearing May 16 at 1:00 p.m.
After the robbery of the 43rd & Plum Kwik Shop, Hutchinson Police Detectives executed two search warrants where they found a large amount of the stolen property including from the Kwik Shop on Jan. 27. They also found numerous glass pipes and water bongs as well a numerous cartons of cigarettes from the burglary of the smoke shop back on Feb. 1.
Bonds in the case were set at $125,000 for each defendant.
