HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 27-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to jail on March 9 on drug charges is scheduled to be back in court for the reading of any formal charges.
William Myers III was arrested for suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with law enforcement and a misdemeanor count of theft.
It started when police responded to the Dillon’s on 5th on the report of a person shoplifting.
When police made contact with Myers, they discovered that he had what they believe was a distribution amount of marijuana on him as well as methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
He is alleged to have stolen a bottle of water from the store. They then attempted to arrest him for that and then allegedly tried to run from officers, but was quickly apprehended. He then pulled a black case from his pants and threw it. Inside, officers say they found five small baggies of suspected marijuana, as well as another bag they believe was methamphetamine.
He remains jailed on a bond of $12,500.
