Hutchinson police are trying to make contact with a man who they say is being 
uncooperative in a standoff in the 700 block of East Sherman in southeast Hutchinson.
According to police, law enforcement came to the house around 5:45 p.m. to serve an arrest warrant on a subject who has refused to come out. Police say the subject is the only one in the house and they are using caution in making contact with the person of interest, who is wanted on warrants. Police have SWAT and tactical officers are on the scene, and two nearby homes have been evacuated. Police wanted to stress that this is not a hostage situation, and just want to make careful with this situation.
The Reno County Sheriff’s Office, Hutchinson Police, fire and EMS also responded. Streets in the area are being blocked off.
