HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A Hutchinson woman arrested for aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm, but failed to show in court for a preliminary hearing was back before a judge Tuesday morning.
Thirty-two-year-old Kristen S. Ardolino was arrested for aggravated assault domestic violence and being a felon in possession of a firearm back on July 10 of last year. She’s alleged to have pulled a large handgun and pointed it at her ex-boyfriend.
But, she failed to appear in court for a preliminary hearing in the case leading to a warrant being issued. In court, she admitted that she had absconded from her community corrections and failed to appear worrying that she be found to be under the influence of cocaine.
She asked for a bond reduction which was denied. Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen telling her that the fact that she admits absconding from corrections, failing to appear for a hearing and possibly being under the possession of drugs doesn’t make her eligible for a bond reduction. Bond is set at $50,000.
Ardolino has been on corrections for a drug case going back to 2014 and is listed by the Kansas Department of Corrections as an absconder.
Judge Allen noted that they would set a new date for a preliminary hearing.
