HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 30-year-old Hutchinson man who last week saw his bond increase to $10,000 after an incident on Feb. 19 was back in court Monday where he was read the formal charges against him.
Timothy Jackson is charged with aggravated assault and battery against another man during a disturbance that allegedly started with him throwing a rock and breaking the glass in a sliding door. The victim then confronted him for that and that’s when the fight began. He allegedly pushed the victim, causing him to fall to the ground and then kicked him while he was down. He also allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to kill him with it.
But in court Monday, he denied it happened that way and claims he was assaulted first.
Jackson was placed on community corrections recently for a drug possession charge. How that will work with the new charges is uncertain.
His case will now move to a future waiver-status docket.
