A 26-year-old Hutchinson man who had been under supervision for violating the Kansas Offender Act in 2012, was bound over for trial in a new case involving drugs.
Kenneth Alan Socha is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of K-2, or synthetic marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
There was an arrest and detain order issued for a violation of his community corrections and when officers went to his home, they ended up doing a search of his residence and allegedly found the drugs. This at 106 North Chemical.
The defense did bring up the fact that there are two residences at that location, one is in what appears to be a garage, while the other is the regular home. Socha lived in the one that looked like a garage, but did have access to the home where he took showers and also stored some food.
The state asked he be bound over while the defense wanted the charges thrown out. Judge Joe McCarville found there was enough evidence to send the case to arraignment and possible trial. He’ll be arraigned next Tuesday by Judge Tim Chambers.
You may remember Socha for a conviction of indecent liberties with a child for a case from 2008.
