A 29-year-old Hutchinson man was taken into custody Thursday morning for incident that actually occurred back on August 14.
One potential charge against Jason Peterson is aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, in this case, his vehicle. Other charges included possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, “a pipe” and criminal damage to property.
It was around 9:15 a-m, on August 14, when 35-year-old Michael A. Brisco reported that Peterson attempted to strike him with his vehicle. This occurring in the parking lot of an abandoned furniture store at 8th & Plum.
He allegedly struck Brisco’s vehicle causing damage to it, then took off according to police and was not seen again until he was spotted at the Reno County Courthouse Thursday morning. He was then taken into custody and allegedly had the pipe with marijuana residue on him.
Peterson is no stranger to law enforcement with numerous convictions for burglary, theft, criminal damage, battery against a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery, drugs, criminal possession of a firearm and flee and elude.
Bond in this latest case is set at 8-thousand, 250-dollars and unless he post that bond, he should make a first appearance on the charges Friday morning.
