HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 37-year-old Hutchinson man who spent a great deal of time in jail before his cases made it through the court system and he was granted community corrections is back in jail on new charges.
Felix Bribiesca Jr. was arrested on Friday for allegedly breaking into two homes and stealing items. One of the burglaries occurred in the 800 block of East A and the other in the 400 block of Liberty. Both were reported Friday night.
Bribiesca was sentenced back in November for several charges, the most serious being a charge of aggravated battery for a case from Nov. 23, 2013. In that case, he’s charged with battering another man, Ismael Chavez.
He also entered a plea to attempted theft for a case on Oct. 31 of that same year, as well as two charges of false impersonation and a misdemeanor count of issuing a worthless check.
In one case that goes back to Oct. 31, 2013, he is charged with three counts of forgery and one count of theft by deception. In the other case, he’s charged with aggravated battery that goes back to Nov. 23, 2013.
He sat in jail all that time with a bond of $17,750, however, Judge Tim Chambers noted that he did spend some time at Larned State Hospital.
The judge sentenced Bribiesca to an underlying sentence of two years, eight months, but then granted him two years on community corrections. With the new arrest, the state may find he violated his corrections.
He should make a first appearance on the new charges Tuesday morning. His bond is set at $13,000.
