HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 33-year-old woman arrested on drug charges has been formally charged.
Police had stopped a vehicle driven by Jessica Cox back on Jan. 20 when they spotted her driving and knew she had outstanding warrants.
Once stopped, she was arrested on the warrants. They then discovered she had a leather jacket that contained items consistent with drug use. After further investigation, they found some bags of methamphetamine and some prescription drugs. They also found a black scale and a container with a liquid she apparently used for tests to see if she’s under the influence.
Charges include possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, possession of the prescription drugs and personal use drug paraphernalia.
Cox has been on community corrections for convictions for two counts of theft and two counts of introducing contraband into a correctional facility and was listed as an absconder from corrections since Dec. 16. She’s scheduled for a hearing for a corrections violation Friday morning in front of Judge Trish Rose.
