As You would expect, Sheriff Randy Henderson wouldn’t comment on the termination of Sheriff Jail Captain Larry Dyer. When asked, can you confirm that he has been terminated? Sheriff Henderson would only say, “ Well, he doesn’t work here anymore.”
Director of Human Resources, Renee Harris confirmed to us that Dyer is no longer with the county with the termination being made official as of Sunday.
Dyer began with the county on February 4, 1991, and began as Captain of the Reno County Jail on April 1, 2011, shortly after Scott Powell retired.
We were told that Sheriff officials met with the jail staff at noon, Monday to inform them as to what has happened.
No one has been named to replace Dyer as far as we know. But, when they name someone, we’ll let you know.
