HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Efforts to deposit a forged check at a local credit union led to three arrest Tuesday by Hutchinson Police.

45-year-old Troy Coil was arrested for forgery, making false information and theft by deception when he tried to deposit a forged check at Envista Credit Union at 1803 North Lorraine. The problem was the account he was trying to deposit the check in was closed and belonged to a deceased individual.

Also arrested was 27-year-old Tearran Duncan who faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The third suspect, 38-year-old Robert Gonzales faces possible charges of felony interference with law enforcement, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. He was also arrested for another case that goes back to Sept. 28, 2015. In that case he is charged with attacking a man with a deadly weapon, a spork which apparently caused injury to the victim. In court, Gonzales denied the attack.

His bond was set at $17,000, when he was arrested, but Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen gave him a $5,000 reduction.

Bond for Duncan and Coil are both set at $5,500 and they remained the same after their court appearances.

All three will be back in court for formal reading of charges next Wednesday.
