TURON, Kan. – A scary situation for a Turon woman Monday night when two people were knocking on her door late at night, then came after she didn’t answer.
The 26-year-old woman to Reno County Sheriff deputies that the two later identified as 35-year-old Kindra Welch and 38-year-old Kealon Berger, both of Wichita were knocking on the house and kitchen door repeatedly and attempted to gain entry. They eventually came into the house while the 26-year-old occupant of the home hid herself and her kids in a bedroom.
After learning the the woman had called 911, the two left the home and spotted near K-61 and Bone Springs. They were arrested for trespassing in the house.
But Welch apparently had drugs on her because when she was booked into the Reno County Correctional Facility, the drugs were found. She was then charged with trafficking in contraband into a jail facility as well as possession of the drugs and drug paraphernalia. Her bond set at $5,500 while the bond for Berger was only $250.00.
No one was injured and the victim didn’t believe anything was stolen from her home. This occurring just after 11 p.m. Monday night.
