HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 27-year-old man charged with aggravated kidnapping, battery-domestic violence, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia with intent to sell is again scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday after repeated delays.
The victim alleges that she was with Arthur A. Pina and they apparently got into some type of argument. She wanted to leave his vehicle and alleges he refused to let her go. She was apparently, at some point, able to escape and make the report.
When police made contact with Pina, they discovered the drugs and paraphernalia and allege it was a seller’s quantity. This occurred just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The hearing is scheduled in front of Judge Joe McCarville after a delay last month.
Pina has convictions out of both Reno and Sherman Counties. That includes the sale of drugs within a thousand feet of a school, cultivation of drugs, possession of a precursor to manufacture and endangerment of a child. Those convictions are out of Reno County.
He also has convictions for distribution of drugs and possession of drugs for a case out of Sherman County.
