HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission approved an agreement for Joe O’Sullivan to remain as County Counselor, however, the agreement will be a little different.
In the past, he was a private contractor with the county while still being a private practice attorney. Now, he will become a part-time county employee. He’ll still do the same things he has been doing, but because he has closed his private law practice down, he’ll actually work out of the courthouse.
His salary, according to County Administrator Gary Meagher, will be $50,000. He will not be eligible for KPERS or insurance, however, the county would pay other requirements mandated by the Kansas Supreme Court.
The commission also approved a request from the Reno County Sheriff’s Department to purchase five Ford Interceptor SUV’s from Midwest Superstore, Hutchinson, for a total package price of $122,265.
